There’s more to being a great photographer than owning a camera. Just because you like to take pictures doesn’t necessarily qualify you to be a photographer. So I was stoked to read John Clark’s post explaining how to move multiple apps at once. Adding Home screen widgets in iOS 14 can also mess up app organization-something I did while playing with widgets deleted about half of my folders on one Home screen. Since the loss of the organizational tools in iTunes, the immense effort in dragging hundreds of icons around has dissuaded me from cleaning things up. However, I have 352 apps installed (check your number in Settings > General > About). I admire such attention to detail, and in an ideal world, I’d use a similar approach. Mud rings fit on 4" square boxes, providing a greater box volume for receptacle/switch installations. Speaking not as an electrician, but as a homeowner who's done a bit of work replacing receptacles and boxes in my house. Am I completely off base here? If I am, what solutions do you guys propose? If so, I assume that the box should be installed sufficiently deep within the wall cavity so that the back of the single-gang cover plate is flush with the outer surface of the paneling. This would allow the receptacle to be replaced in the future without cutting the paneling by removing the single-gang cover plate, then removing the receptacle. Is the solution to install a mud ring with a full single-gang opening instead of a mud ring with a single small hole for just the front face of the receptacle to protrude through? Then install the paneling to cover the non-raised portion of the mud ring? Then install the receptacle into the full-single gang opening in the mud ring? Then install a single-gang cover plate on top of the mud ring and paneling? This single-gang cover plate would have the small hole in the center for the protruding front face of the receptacle. While I'm planning on using wood paneling instead of drywall, the same problem applies since I would prefer not having to cut the paneling to replace the receptacle or to unscrew and remove the entire panel to replace the receptacle. If this is true, then the receptacle could not be replaced if it failed or if a different type of receptacle was needed in the future without cutting away the drywall from the perimeter of the raised portion of the mud ring. This means that the receptacle would need to be installed into the mud ring from the back side and the mud ring installed on the box prior to the dry wall being installed. If I'm using a single 240 volt receptacle in the box, the box cover will have a single small hole in the center of the cover for the front face only of the receptacle to protrude through. I'd appreciate if some of you experts would tell me where my understandings stated above are wrong. My understanding is that Type Two is used for exposed wiring (no dry wall or surface covering of any type) and I suspect this type of cover should also be used with a handy box which has rounded corners so that it won't "catch stuff" like an exposed square-cornered metal box can. The raised portion of the mud ring will sit in a hole cut into the drywall so that this portion of the mud ring is flush with the outer surface of the drywall. The drywall will cover the flat perimeter portion of the mud ring. My understanding, which may well be completely wrong, is that Type One is called a mud ring or plaster ring that is installed on top of the box prior to drywall being installed. Type Two is entirely raised, typically 1/2", even along the outer perimeter where it is sitting on the outer edges of the box. Type One has a flat perimeter, which touches the edges of the box, and the inner portion of the cover is raised either 1/2" or 5/8" depending on the cover design. There appears to be two types of metal covers for the metal electrical boxes. The paneling will be screwed to the studs so that it is relatively easy to remove in case I want to modify the wiring in the future. The walls will be insulated with fiberglass batt, then covered with 3/16" thick plywood sheets as paneling. The workshop is wood-framed 2 x 4" construction. I will be using 4 x 4" metal boxes to each hold a single 240 volt receptacle in my workshop. I'm a bit confused about mud or plaster rings for electrical boxes and know some of you guys can provide the needed guidance. Gutter classes are available across all breakpoints, with all the same sizes as our margin and padding spacing. Gutters are also responsive and customizable. width s are set in percentages so you always have the same relative sizing. There are three main layout components in dash-bootstrap-components. Column classes indicate the number of template columns to span (e.g., col-4 spans four). The Bootstrap 3 grid comes in four (4) sizes to accomodate. There is however the ability to wrap flex items onto new lines, creating new rows if flex-direction is row and new columns if flex-direction is column. if the container isnt fixed, it will push elements to the edge of the viewport and take up all space in between. Auto will take up any remaining space in a fixed container. Setting row height for all rows is simple. The Bootstrap grid has twelve columns, and six responsive tiers (allowing you to. In addition to the concept of column width, Bootstrap has different breakpoints or grid sizes. So how can such people see God even when he manifests himself.Īgain, they were called wise men because they listened to God who told them in a dream not to return to Herod. They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds. Anyway "the fool has already said in his heart there is no God. God does not reveal himself to fools but to the wise and humble of heart. These Eastern kings must be men of deep faith they see a tiny baby lying in a manger yet they prostrated themselves to worship him because they believe he was God. We become foolish when we seek to destroy younger stars coming up or when we see them as threats to us. Though they were Eastern kings, yet they dropped their pride as kings, humbled themselves and came all the way to Bethlehem to worship the new born king in sincerity of heart unlike Herod the foolish king who wanted to destroy the new born king. They are called wise men for many reasons. Considering the after effects of their sojourn that is, the killing of the innocent children by king Herod, many have asked whether they were really wise men. They were Pagan kings and astrologers whose studies of nature led them to God. Tradition gave them the names: Gaspar, Melchior and Balthazar. The Bible does not mention that there were three wise men, but it mentions that three gifts Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh were offered to the Baby Jesus. It is generally not accepted that there were three wise men who came in search of Christ. "The people that live in darkness have seen a great light" (cf.Isaiah 60) The church is the star leading us to God. Today's celebration revolves round the fact that God reveals himself to the three wise men through the guidance of a star. He once manifested himself to Moses in the burning bush. In the past and even now God has always revealed himself in different ways. It is all about the manifestation or the revelation of our God. Today, the church celebrates the Solemnity of the Epiphany of our God. Like mother Theresa, May God keep us faithful to him when there seems to be no star to guide us or when the star disappears. I remember Mother Theresa of Calcutta saying that through out her years of serving God and humanity, she never had a vision of God yet in that seeming dark and fuzzy condition, she kept faith with her Master. 20:29) In this case, they seem to journey in the dark. But what about those who have not seen? The Lord himself would say: "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe". It is this personal encounter with God that spurs many of us on in our journey of faith. One interesting thing about our search for God is that when He finally manifests himself to us, we become super excited, we hold onto it saying God revealed this to me or in the words of the prophets of old, "thus says the Lord". There is a pandas example at the end of this tutorial. These plots can be embedded in PyQt5 in the same way shown here, and the reference to the axes passed when plotting. Many other Python libraries - such as seaborn and pandas- make use of the Matplotlib backend for plotting. In this tutorial we'll cover how to embed Matplotlib plots in your PyQt applications If you're migrating an existing data analysis tool to a Python GUI, or if you simply want to have access to the array of plot abilities that Matplotlib offers, then you'll want to know how to include Matplotlib plots within your application. However, there is another plotting library for Python which is used far more widely, and which offers a richer assortment of plots - Matplotlib. PyQtGraph uses the Qt vector-based QGraphicsScene to draw plots and provides a great interface for interactive and high performance plotting. Then, you should be able to update the example.txt file with new coordinates. In a previous tutorial we covered plotting in PyQt5 using PyQtGraph. The result of running this graph should give you a graph as usual. We run the animation, putting the animation to the figure (fig), running the animation function of "animate," and then finally we have an interval of 1000, which is 1000 milliseconds, or one second. Then: ani = animation.FuncAnimation(fig, animate, interval=1000) We open the above file, and then store each line, split by comma, into xs and ys, which we'll plot. We read data from an example file, which has the contents of: 1,5 What we're doing here is building the data and then plotting it. Graph_data = open('example.txt','r').read() Now we write the animation function: def animate(i): Next, we'll add some code that you should be familiar with if you're following this series: e('fivethirtyeight') This is the module that will allow us to animate the figure after it has been shown. Here, the only new import is the matplotlib.animation as animation. To start: import matplotlib.pyplot as plt To do this, we use the animation functionality with Matplotlib. You may want to use this for something like graphing live stock pricing data, or maybe you have a sensor connected to your computer, and you want to display the live sensor data. In this Matplotlib tutorial, we're going to cover how to create live updating graphs that can update their plots live as the data-source updates. In other words, victims of abuse may be waiting for that next “feel-good moment” in the relationship, keeping them trapped in a cycle of abuse and relief. While we aren’t technically addicted to dopamine or the other chemicals, our memory will remind us of the good feeling they create and we’ll seek out these experiences again. When something positive happens in the relationship, there is an increase in the feel-good chemical dopamine, as well as adrenaline and norepinephrine, two other chemicals that can make us feel excited by the prospect of loving feelings. Trauma bonding may also be a type of addiction-not to the bad parts of the relationship, but to the good. Says Hannah, “Some women actually defend their abuser, protecting him from others' criticisms she may do this out of fear or misplaced loyalty, or maybe even out of magical thinking, that if she is loyal and protective of him he will be the same way toward her.”Ī Dopamine Rush. In so doing, they feel protected by their perpetrator rather than hostile with them.” The victim gives into the source of violence and aligns with it. In its most basic sense, this is seen as surrendering to win. “Rather than place themselves in an escalating cycle of violence, consciously and unconsciously figure out ways to deescalate and resolve the conflict. Psychotherapist Paul Hokemeyer says Stockholm syndrome, or trauma bonding, are survival techniques. Hannah says trauma bonding has similar traits to Stockholm syndrome, a term originally created to describe how victims of kidnapping can begin to feel a connection to their captors over time. “He may have been her ‘first great love,’ making her reluctant to leave him, believing in his potential or his capacity to return back to the way he used to be." she feels dutiful and obligated to him and, in most cases, at least for a while, he has treated her well,” says Hannah. “Certainly not all, but especially in instances where a female survivor became bonded to her abuser in her youth. Hannah says trauma bonding can also occur when the victim feels a sense of obligation to the abuser. “She hopes that this time, as opposed to during her childhood, she will be loved and treated well.” “Many of these survivors were abused as children, often by their father, whom the abuser may remind her of on an unconscious level,” says Hannah. Children whose parents were abusive may grow up to find familiarity in a partner who is abusive, feeling a sense of normalcy being abused. There are a few suspected reasons why some survivors experience trauma bonding and others don’t.Ĭhildhood Abuse. Trauma bonding can happen for a variety of reasons but some experts, including Mo Therese Hannah, Ph.D., chair and co-founder of the Battered Mothers Custody Conference, and professor of psychology at Siena College, believe it can have roots in childhood. The abusive partner constantly lets you down, but you believe them anyway. You find yourself defending the relationship if others criticize it.Your friends and/or family have advised you to leave the relationship, but you stay. You think you can change your abusive partner. You “focus on the good” in the person, despite behaviors you know are abuse. There are promises of things getting better in the future. You’d describe your relationship as intense and complex. You don’t know if you trust the other person, but you can’t leave. You feel stuck and powerless in the relationship but want to make the best of it.If you think you might be experiencing trauma bonding with an abusive partner, read through this list of signs and see how many sound familiar: “Many don’t even make the connection that they are, in fact, being abused.” “It can become a cycle of, if I’m loved, I’m abused it’s my fault and I need to please them,” says Juliano. It brings with it not only feelings of sympathy, compassion and love, but also confusion, licensed mental health counselor Stefanie Juliano, LPCC told. Trauma bonding is a type of attachment that one can feel toward someone who’s causing them trauma. |
